Seaboard Handles Cerveceria Regional Project

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

November 20, 2001

Seaboard Marine, the leading independent carrier to Latin America and the Caribbean announced today that it was carrying two giant boilers manufactured by Wabash Manufacturing for Cerveceria Regional of Venezuela. In a multimodal, multi-shipment project tendered by Polaris Ocean Lines, Seaboard Marine had the vessels and the ability to manage these out of gauge pieces, too difficult to handle by other carriers.

“With Seaboard’s help on this project we were able to move these large boilers from Wabash, WI to Miami for the voyage to Venezuela; Its very important to us that Miami be considered a project port “ said Lorenzo Lorenzo, V.P. of Polaris Ocean Lines, an NVOCC specializing in Breakbulk and out of gauge cargoes and rolling stock.

With the advent of fuel transition, digitalization, AI and autonomy, innovation in vessel design and operation proceeds at unprecedented speed.
