Ferguson Marine Confirms Duncan Anderson as Interim Board Chair
UK-based Ferguson Marine has appointed Non-Executive Director, Duncan Anderson, as Interim Chair. This comes as current Board Chair, Andrew Miller, is due to step down upon completion of his three-year term at the end of November.
Anderson has served as a Non-Executive Director of Ferguson Marine since March 2025 adding demonstrable shipbuilding expertise as a Chartered Marine Engineer with over 40 years of experience in ship operations and shipbuilding.
Graeme Thomson, CEO of Ferguson Marine, said: “Andrew Miller has played an integral role in helping Ferguson Marine achieve several significant milestones. Under his chairmanship, he oversaw the successful handover of MV Glen Sannox, appointed a permanent Chief Executive, strengthened its Board with the recruitment of several experienced Non-Executive Directors, secured vital defence work with BAE Systems and improved delivery planning for Glen Rosa. We are extremely grateful to him for his hard work and dedication as Chair of the Ferguson Marine Board and wish him well.”
Anderson will work alongside Miller to ensure a smooth handover, while the recruitment of a permanent Chair is ongoing. He will be responsible for ensuring Ferguson Marine makes progress against its key priorities, delivering Glen Rosa and BAE Systems contracts quickly and efficiently and securing new orders to guarantee a long-term future for Ferguson Marine.
Anderson said: “I’m delighted be given the opportunity to continue the important work Andrew has been doing as Interim Chair of our Board. Andrew’s support and leadership have been invaluable during my time as a Non-Executive Director, and I will work closely with him to ensure a smooth transition.”
Miller will continue to serve on the Board until November 30, at which point he will leave the business to focus on future work arrangements, overseas obligations, and family commitments.
He said: “Serving as Chair of Ferguson Marine has been a great privilege. Under the watchful eye and steady hand of the remaining management team, Ferguson Marine is well positioned for the future.”
