Senator Clinton (D-NY) and Rep. Bishop (D-NY) introduced companion bills, the Long Island Sound Protection Act (S. 2482 and H.R. 4482) to amend the Marine Protection, Research, and Sanctuaries Act of 1972 to prohibit the dumping of dredged material in certain bodies of water.
