Singapore’s First-of-Class Multi-Role Combat Vessel Launched

ST Engineering has launched the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN)'s first Victory-class Multi-Role Combat Vessel (MRCV), Victory, at its Benoi Yard.MRCV Victory is the first of six MRCVs to be built by ST Engineering under a detailed design and construction contract awarded by the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) in 2023.Measuring 150 metres in length, the MRCV is designed to serve as a “mothership” for unmanned systems, enabling seamless operability across air, surface, and subsurface domains.

Bunker Sales Surge in Singapore

Singapore's marine bunker fuel sales in July climbed to their highest in more than one and a half years, official data showed on Thursday.Sales at the world's largest refuelling hub for ships totalled 4.92 million metric tons in July this year, up 7.0% month-on-month and 5.7% year-on-year, data from Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) showed.More sales emerged as monthly container throughput hit its highest in the year at 3.87 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), based on MPA data. Vessel calls for bunkering rose 7.3% from June to 3,651 calls in July.

New Crane Tips Over During Delivery at Tuas Port

Singapore Tests Oil Spill Response Robot

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) led the 16th Joint Oil Spill Exercise (JOSE) on October 11 and tested new oil spill response technologies.Over 100 personnel from 18 agencies and companies participated in JOSE 2024, which included a table-top exercise and a seaward deployment exercise at the Western Anchorage, off Pasir Panjang Terminal.Terminal operators on Jurong Island and Pulau Bukom activated their emergency protocols and deployed craft to spray dispersants.
