Second Engineer Pleads Guilty to Pollution Violation

The U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts issued a Press Release stating that the second engineer on a container ship pleaded guilty to violation of the Act to Prevent Pollution from Ships. The officer made fraudulent entries in the ship’s Oil Record Book. He faces a maximum potential sentence of five years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
