Sight-Seeing Boat Capsizes While Helping Others

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

October 21, 2008

A watchstander at Coast Guard Station Port Aransas received a call at approximately 11:10 a.m. from a Good Samaritan reporting a capsized boat with three people in the water. The same Good Samaritan was able to pick up and bring all three people in his boat. In the process, a dolphin sight-seeing boat trying to assist, motor vessel Flipper, capsized and put all 18 people onboard in the water.

The Coast Guard launched a rescue boat crew from Station Port Aransas.

The Coast Guard boat located the overturned vessel. Aransas' boat crew arrived and rescued all 18 people with the assistance of a Good Samaritan that was in the area. All survivors were wearing life jackets and no injuries were reported.

Trite but true, the path to decarbonization has no ‘silver bullet’ solution.
