Torvald Klaveness Welcomes Fabian Flaaten as Chief Financial Officer
Torvald Klaveness has announced that Fabian Flaaten has joined as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective October 28, 2025. Flaaten will report to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ernst Meyer and be part of the Group’s Executive Committee and Holding Management Team.
As CFO, Flaaten will play a role in enabling value creation, financial discipline, and long-term strategic direction for the Klaveness Group. He brings more than 20 years of international finance and leadership experience. Most recently, serving as CFO of House of Control, where he helped scale the business from a venture-backed growth company through IPO and eventual acquisition by Visma. Before that, he spent a decade with Aker Solutions in both Norway and the U.S., holding senior roles across commercial management, cost control, and business development on large-scale subsea projects.
Throughout his career, Flaaten has earned a reputation as a hands-on, commercially minded finance leader. He brings an analytical approach combined with the ability to connect financial insight to big-picture business decisions, making him well-positioned to support Klaveness’ ambitious strategy and future growth plans.
“It’s fantastic to join a company with such a bold strategy and strong heritage in the shipping industry," said Flaaten. "While I’m new to shipping, I see clear parallels with my background, especially the focus on customers, improving how we work, and delivering meaningful services. I’m excited to contribute to Klaveness’ development, both as a business and as a brand, and to be part of improving the nature of shipping.”
Based in Oslo, Flaaten will begin his role by connecting with teams across the Group’s global offices, gaining deeper insight into operations and supporting the continued growth of the Klaveness portfolio.
